Donovan MitcSChell, Cavaliers storm back, oust Magic in Game 7

Cleveland Cavaliers Make History with Epic Comeback Led by Donovan Mitchell

The Cleveland Cavaliers are heading to the Eastern Conference Semifinals for the first time since 2019, and they did it in dramatic fashion! In a thrilling Game 7 against the Orlando Magic, the Cavs overcame a huge deficit to win 106-94.

Mitchell Powers the Comeback

The hero of the night was Donovan Mitchell. Despite battling a nagging knee injury, he put on a show, scoring a whopping 39 points. This comes after a 50-point performance in Game 6, making his total points in the last two games the second-highest ever in Games 6 and 7 of the NBA playoffs!

Mitchell struggled early in the game, but in the second half, he exploded. He took over the scoring, outscoring the entire Magic team by himself for a stretch. His teammates praised his competitive spirit and leadership, both on and off the court.

Cavaliers Claw Their Way Back

The Magic started strong, leading by as many as 18 points in the first half. But the Cavs never gave up. Coach J.B. Bickerstaff emphasized staying calm, and in the third quarter, Cleveland finally made their move. It all started with a three-pointer from Mitchell, sparking a huge run that saw them outscore Orlando by 30 points in the second half!

This comeback was historic. It's the biggest comeback in a Game 7 since at least 1997, showing the Cavs' incredible resilience.

Team Effort Secures the Win

While Mitchell was the star, the Cavs received important contributions from other players. Caris LeVert chipped in with 15 points, and Evan Mobley dominated defensively, blocking five shots. Coach Bickerstaff highlighted the importance of everyone stepping up to support Mitchell.

Looking Ahead

The Cavaliers are excited to move on to the next round, where they'll face the Boston Celtics. They're hungry for more success, and their sights are set beyond just the first round. This win is a big step forward for a young team that's determined to make a deep playoff run.
